Mobile Intensive Care Unit

An intensive care unit (ICU), also known as a critical care unit (CCU) is a special department of health care facility that provides intensive treatment.

The patients admitted to the Intensive care unit suffer from severe and life-threatening illnesses and injuries, which require constant, close monitoring and support from specialist equipment and medications in order to ensure normal bodily functions.

The ICU is staffed by highly trained doctors and nurses who specialise in caring for critically ill patients. It is a place where patients are under constant observation, monitored by nurses placed in the department mostly in the ratio of 1:2 to be able to cater to the needs of patients without compromising on attention.

Depending on the condition of the patients, they may be directly admitted to an intensive care unit after stat treatment received from an emergency department if required, or from a ward if their condition rapidly deteriorates, or immediately after surgery if the surgery is a very invasive one and the patient is at high risk of catching an infection or complication.

The ICU at Neelima hospital is a multi-bedded wing which is well equipped with equipment that is important to support the life within a weak patient and for them to recover as soon as possible. We have specialised doctors placed in the wing for immediate medical attention for emergencies.

We have a strict policy of meeting hours at the department for the patient to get the rest they require and to keep them from the infection that people carry with them when they come to visit.
